Mary Pye has recently joined the Town Partnership as an executive member.
Now semi –retired, she has always worked in Primary Education; from classroom teacher to Headteacher. She then moved into Local Authority strategic and advisory roles initially for Kingston upon Thames LEA and then for Hampshire County Council.
She continues to work part-time at Chichester University within the teacher training faculty and also as an independent early years adviser delivering training and consultancy to schools and settings. She is passionate about family support and quality early education to ensure children receive the best possible start in life.
She is a member of New Milton Rotary and will take on the role of President for the second time in July 2017. Mary has also been a Rotary Assistant District Governor providing support for all the Rotary clubs in the New Forest. She was recently awarded a ‘Paul Harris Fellow’ - a high accolade in recognition of her work in Rotary.
Mary is a trustee for Home-Start New Forest which, through its volunteers, offers support to vulnerable families with young children living locally.
Mary has lived in the area now for 15 years and feels it is huge privilege to be by the sea and near the New Forest. She cares deeply for the town itself and wants to ensure the best developments are achieved for its residents.
